Lori Nevel is a board-certified Speech-Language Pathologist with over 30 years of work experience. She started her career as a high school special education teacher and ESE specialist and has been a practicing SLP for over 27 years. She earned her bachelor’s degree in special education at Indiana University, Bloomington and her master’s degree at Nova Southeastern University, Fort Lauderdale where she has served as an adjunct site visit placement coordinator and site visitor. Lori works with all areas of pediatric and young adult speech, language, and feeding issues. Her specialties include working with children who present with severe early language learning delays/disorders, motor speech disorders, tethered oral tissues, and feeding disorders. She is a believer in a collaborative approach in treating children and provides education and consulting to parents, teachers, pediatricians, and any other discipline involved with a particular client. She is certified in SOS feeding, PROMPT, Hanen “It Takes Two to Talk” program and is a CASA that has worked with many foster children and families. Lori has worked in a variety of settings including home health, hospital outpatient, private practice, and schools.
Most recently Lori has been an integral member of the Norton Women’s and Children’s Marshall Family Pediatric Specialty Rehabilitation where she remains on a PRN basis. When she is not collaborating with families and providing therapy, Lori continues to learn through research, continuing education, and collaboration with preferred providers. She also loves spending time with her husband, two children, and their dog.
